You might think having your own real estate property in Boracay is a waste of money. It is just a spontaneous splurge of some kind. Given that Boracay is one of the most popular beach islands in Asia, it can’t be helped to think twice or thrice before taking the plunge. But in the long run, it may be a worthy investment and it is more than the spectacular view you will see in the mornings. A study pointed out the beneficial effects in health and wellbeing of living near coastal areas like beaches. And we’ve listed some of it below:

Breathing fresh sea air
This is one thing we envy from those who permanently settle along the beach or near the beach – fresh sea air. City living is not just congested because of the left, right and in between establishments and horde of vehicles swarming in every intersection. Air pollution is the price we pay because of modernization and industrialization. It is a sure potent “potion” that damages our health and we have no choice but to live with it. Unlike the air in the beach which is charged with negative ions. Once inhaled, it alleviates mood, relieves stress and pumps up the energy we need for the day, as stated by WebMD.

Walking on the sand
This beach activity more than tickles your feet as the sand serves as warm cushion beneath it. Walking alone is the cheapest form of exercise. But studies say kicking off your soles while walking on the sand stimulates your nerve endings and strengthens your muscles. Another bonus is it is an instant spa for your tired feet and toes when you trudge on wet sand that acts as a natural exfoliant that sheds dead skin cells.

Basking under the sun
We are all familiar with the sun’s positive effect on our health. It is a natural source of vitamin D and releases endorphins. The latter effect improves appetite and lowers stress level or pain, this is according to MedicineNet. On the other hand, too much ultraviolet light is bad for the skin. Apply some SPF 15 or higher graded sunscreen on exposed areas before you go out and we are not only talking about a beach setting here.

Fun splash in sea water
Sure, you can experience the same enjoyment in a pool but the fact that the water is diluted with chlorine makes it so much more different. Soaking in a chlorine-concentrated pool can cause bladder and colorectal cancers, eye and skin irritation, and may trigger asthma and recurrent bronchitis in children if frequently exposed, CNN reports. You will not experience this while bathing in sea water. Another spa or anti-aging treatment you could get from saltwater is it can make your skin tighter and supple because of the abundant minerals in seas or oceans. It is also loaded with salt and potassium chloride that helps cure dermatitis.

Based on these findings, it seems buying a real estate property in Boracay is not a bad move after all!
